The Challenge

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHBLC) project required translating a fully approved set of designs into a functional website experience. Many of the layouts and components extended beyond the existing design system, creating a need for custom development while still meeting timeline and budget expectations.

With designs already finalized and approved, the focus shifted to execution, ensuring that each page could be built accurately while maintaining performance, responsiveness, and consistency. This meant balancing custom development needs with existing constraints, while still delivering a cohesive and high-quality user experience.

Strategy & Execution

I partnered closely with the designer to bring the approved concepts to life, building out each page and interaction in HTML. Because several modules were unique to this project, I developed them from scratch and used AI to help streamline more complex elements like custom rotators.

Throughout the process, I collaborated with the project manager and developers to ensure the intended functionality carried through to the backend. I reviewed implementations, validated interactions, and helped guide how each module should behave to maintain alignment with the original design intent.

Impact & Outcomes

The site was delivered on time, with all custom components functioning as intended. Despite the added complexity, the final product closely matched the original designs and provided a consistent, well-executed user experience across pages.

The result was a set of responsive, production-ready pages that translated design into a seamless digital experience. Close collaboration during implementation helped ensure that both the visual details and interactive behaviors carried through, resulting in a polished and reliable final product.
